Monarchs had absolute power but now they do not have absolute power.

Another name for monarchs is kings. The kings are the ruler of the country.

If the monarchs what’d to raise the taxes they could because they had absolute power but until the Magna Carta was signed they had to ask the parliament. The monarchs made the laws and the orders were sent to the sheriff and the sheriff asked the people.

If the monarchs wanted to change the law they had the right to change the law. If they wanted to make a law they had the right to make a new law because they had absolute power.   

In 1689 the parliament passed a law that restricted the power of the monarchs but the monarchs still had lots of power.
